Terms and conditions

This letter sets out some important information that I am required by law to provide to you. As this includes information about my charges, if you do not have private medical insurance but someone else will be paying your bill, you may wish to pass a copy of this letter to them. Please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charge that they do not pay.

Conditions covered

As a Psychiatrist, I see patients aged 17 and over and cover conditions such as bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, PTSD, psychoses and OCD.

Consultation Fee

If you are self-funding, the fee for an initial consultation for a general mental health assessment is £510 and the fee for any follow up consultation is £230. The self funding fee for an ADHD assessment is £1200. The self-funding fee is payable within 48 hours of receiving the invoice and once received, a receipt will be sent and the booking is secured. For follow up appointments, payment must be received at least 2 days before the day of your appointment to prevent our automated payment system from cancelling the booking. If you pay by bank transfer, please email us after the payment is completed and put the invoice number in the reference. For self-funding ADHD assessments you are required to pay 50% (£600) within 48 hours of receiving the invoice and the remaining 50% (£600) at the time of the appointment. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 72 hours written notice if you wish to cancel your appointment. For cancellations with less than 72 hours notice or if you do not attend your appointment, a cancellation fee of 100% of the appointment charge at the self-pay rate will be charged. Please email info@bhampsychiatryclinic.co.uk if you want to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. Please note that most insurers will not cover a cancellation fee so you would be invoiced directly.

Private Medical Insurance

If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees. Please let us know if there is any excess on your policy. Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer. Failure to make payment may result in the matter being referred to collection agents whose charges will be added to and payable with the invoice debt. I am recognised with the following insurance companies: Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Allianz, AXA PP and OneBright Network.

Financial Interests

I have no financial interest in The Priory Hospital, The Solihull Wellbeing Clinic or The Consulting Rooms at Edgbaston.

Quality Information

You can compare independent information about the quality of private treatment offered at the hospital and other private healthcare providers from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN).

Complaints

I strive to provide excellent care and want to hear if there have been problems, whether these were related to my provision of direct care to, or whether administrative processes have been difficult. If you would like to make a complaint, please write to me at info@bhampsychiatryclinic.co.uk in the first instance. I will provide a written response to you within 14 days and seek to resolve the situation and provide a remedy. If you are still not satisfied, I will ask an independent doctor to review the complaint.
